Teaching Australia – Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership was established in 2005 to support and advance the teaching profession. Its focus is the profession as a whole, embracing the professional practice of teaching and school leadership in all settings, sectors and jurisdictions. Teaching Australia is funded by the Commonwealth through AGQTP
Teaching Australia’s three main objectives are to: 
- support and advance the quality of teaching and leadership in Australian schools;
- strengthen and advance the teaching profession; and
- develop as the national body for the teaching profession.
