Enhancing the Capacity of School Leaders

The aim of the project is to bring about sustained, systemic change through engaging principals from around Australia, to form an ongoing coalition of schools who commit to improving educational outcomes for their Indigenous students.

The Improving School Leadership project is part of Australia’s participation in an Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Education Activity on school leadership improvement.

ACEL will publish and distribute to all Australian schools, a book containing the inspirational school leadership stories of sixteen outstanding educational leaders.

The project will assist school leaders in developing the knowledge, understandings and skills required to find additional funds through a range of methods, including tendering, project funding and grant seeking.  The project is being promoted nationally across all education sectors and it is expected that up to 600 school leaders and community members will participate.
